NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PRESBYTERIAN HOMES AND SERVICES - THE SEQUOIAS - ATRIUM & LIBRARY REMODEL
The Modified Atrium Remodel Project for The Sequoias – San Francisco involved the renovation of the lowest level of an existing Atrium, as well as the refurbishment of an existing lounge and library contiguous with the 7-story opening. Serving as the gathering and social space for the senior retirement community, the design of the atrium emphasizes transparency and creates open, inviting space that recall notions of communal areas in a private home.
Another major component to the transformation of the Atrium is the central reflecting pool to include new laminated glass guardrails, corner planters and LED strip lighting. The lounge and library were also updated significantly to enhance the character of both spaces.
