ZUCKERBERG SAN FRANCISCO GENERAL HOSPITAL & TRAUMA CENTER - CAMPUS MASTER PLAN
FCA completed a Campus Master Plan to establish planning guidelines for the physical development of every building on the San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) Campus after the completion of the new Acute Care Hospital Building.
Per the requirements of Senate Bill SB1953, SFGH is required to relocate acute care services on the campus currently located in the existing Main Hospital Building (Building No. 5) to a seismically compliant building. The Campus Master Plan provided a framework for decision-making by SFGH for the overall development of the campus after the completion of the new Acute Care Hospital Building. The Campus Master Plan achieved four primary objectives: increased operational efficiencies by relocating departments currently scattered throughout the campus and located off-site, expanded program and department areas using available vacated spaces, relieved crowding of programs and departments resulting from years of insufficient space, and retrofitted buildings previously identified as requiring seismic upgrades.
